is an award-winning songwriter, singer and musician. She is best known for her powerful and moving vocals and the quality of her compositions and live performances. She has enjoyed success both as a solo artist, a songwriter and as a member of a number of notable and influential musical duos and groups including the Albion Band and a spell taking the place of the legendary Sandy Denny in a line up of Fairport Convention that reprised the classic album Liege and Lief. She tours and records with fellow singer-songwriter Julie Matthews, with daughter Kellie While and solo with her own band. Her songs have been covered by several name performers including Mary Black, Fairport Convention and American bluegrass vocalist Kathy Chiavola.
